From talking to various programmers in different fields I was surprised at the amount of people that did not go to college and are now professional programmers.  I do believe that programming is a talent driven profession that some people are naturally good at.  I will more than likely end up going to college though because I feel I need more knowledge before I’m able to obtain a job in the industry.

So that brings me to today’s question: Did you go to college to become a programmer?

If you didn’t go to college do you feel that not having a degree has ever “held you back”?  If you did go to college to you feel it was worth the money and the time?

(Here is the poll question and also put your detailed response in the comment section below)
