Planning Phase
The results for the type of game you guys want to see me make are in! *Drum Roll* The winner by a land side of 28 votes out of 51 is Classic RPG! Honestly I must say that I found this a bit surprising. Role playing is my favorite game genre but I didn’t expect classic RPG to win much alone by this much. It’s nice because I thought that people nowadays didn’t care too much for the RPG scene but by looking at the poll results it’s clear that people are looking for a good old RPG.

The planning phase is basically the first step in creating a serious project. I will start to make a basic outline of how I would like to approach this process and also start on the basic concept of the game. Below is the planned game development process at a very high level.

(Basic Plan)

As I mentioned in yesterdays post I like to have the people involved in the game development process as much as possible. I think especially with making a RPG it would be good to have feedback on some of the things you guys want to see in the game. Even though today isn’t a direct concept phase (tomorrow will be) I would still like to get some feedback on the general game play aspects of the game. Below are a few polls with some basic game play questions. Once again these polls are only open till the end of the day (midnight) so if you want to help decide what aspects will be in the game you might want to take the time to vote and maybe leave a comment with your thoughts.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Tomorrow I will begin focusing on the core game concepts. I would like to also mention to anyone that hasn’t yet subscribed to my blog I encourage you to do so. That way you can get instant post updates.
