I’m back to blogging now that I’m not too sick. I figured I would make this post about my current goals for the coming months with programming. First off right now I’m finishing up a website for a new local business. I’m also watching the Stanford computer science 106A videos which I’m about half way through. Once I finish up the Stanford videos I plan to start developing applications for Android cell phones since the Stanford videos go over Java and will give me a good grounding before I venture into Android development. Knowing that it will be hard to make any decent money off making applications I might look into freelancing. I feel my PHP skill is high enough to take on a good amount of web related tasks.

I’m a person of my word and as some of my readers might remember I talked about releasing a few different things since my blog started. Well those projects are all in beta stages so I will be posting them on my blog very soon. Off the top of my head I have the BlackJack game written in Javascript, a ‘virtual drug dealer’ console game written in Python, a serial key generator written in PHP and my Karel The Robot library with documentation and improvements. I probably have other things I will be releasing too like PHP scripts and older projects.

I’m still seeking employment but the “bright” side to not finding a job is the fact I will have even more time to develop my programming skills. Something that is always itching at me is trying to develop an mmorpg but I KNOW that it is near impossible to create something people are willing to pay for on my own. I have tried a few times years back with different game engines. Another idea that kind of goes along those lines is making a browser based multiplayer rpg for cell phones. Try and gear the content at cell phones browsers which has probably been done but it would be the most feasible idea for me when it comes to making a profitable mmorpg. Regardless I plan to develop some really interesting things before I go to college in the fall. Speaking of college, I’m waiting to hear back from a University by me. Hoping I get accepted even though I applied pretty late.

I would like to thank all my readers that stayed subscribed while I was sick and if you guys have any suggestions for future blog posts don’t hesitate to tell me. I’m considering doing a few interviews with other blogging programmers.
