Game Concept
Today we begin the game concept phase. I hope to get enough basic game play concepts taken care of that I can begin coding tomorrow. If you read yesterdays post you know that we voted on a few of the very basic game concepts. The results are Visual Look: NES-style, Hardcore Level: Medium and the final poll result were very close. The final poll (“What kind of class(s) do you want in the game?”) had a tie between Fighter and Mage and also Ranger right was right behind them followed closely by Necro. Thinking about this myself I chose to only include one class in this game for two main reasons which are 1) I can really spend time perfecting a single class so that it play very well and 2) It will speed up the overall game development. I was taking into consideration what all sprites I had access to for this game and figured it would be best to choose fighter since I had more pre-made sprites. I also figured it would be the easiest to edit if needed.
I’m already working up a nice story and so far the main setting will be in dungeons. Right now I need to go over two of the features you guys want in the game that way I can begin coding. Below are today’s polls dealing with the games features.
