Posts Tagged ‘marketplaces for independent developers’

I recently started looking into platforms that allow independent developers a chance to publish their applications/games.

My list is pretty short since almost every application store I check requires that you’re a company, has extremely high licensing fees, or just won’t accept indie applications.  Obviously one of the first application stores that come to mind is iPhone app store. I believe the android application store accepts indie submissions.  Xbox 360 seems to have a fairly open indie community on their Xbox live arcade.  I think I should also mention Facebook being a viable source for an indie to make money from their application.  With Facebook you can’t really sell your application directly but it is possible to make a little money off revenue from ads within your application.

What all application stores do you know that are indie friendly?  Please throw your answer in the comment box below.  If you would like to follow my programming journey or discuss topics like this one you can subscribe to my blog to be notified of my new posts.
