Posts Tagged ‘should I try the .net framework’

I stopped in yesterday at the 2 year college and spoke with the programming teacher for an interview.  They teach .net and the classes begin in a few weeks so figured I would start learning either C# or VB.net to maybe get a little jump on the class in case I decide to try out the college.  I have been pretty much avoiding .net since I’m trying to make cross platform applications but I guess I could use mono or something.

I think I will pick up C# since it seems to have a little better syntax to me and the fact I keep hearing that Visual Basic is “dead”.  Either way I can get into asp.net and see if I like it over PHP.

Are you a .net developer?  If so how do you like it compared to other programming languages?
